“Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.”
~St. Teresa of Avila
The Catholic schools in the Diocese of Tucson continue to operate in both remote and hybrid modes, depending on the unique needs of their school communities. In addition, each school’s planning is aligned with the guidance and recommendations from their local health department, Arizona Department of Education, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The Department of Catholic Schools continues to work with our school leaders, providing resources, recommendations, and considerations in response to some very challenging questions as they diligently and prayerfully respond to the needs of their school faculty, staff, and students. Each hybrid plan contains mitigation protocols to ensure the safety of school faculty, staff, and students. Our five-pronged planning focus is framed around Catholic identity, health & safety, building & maintaining community, curriculum & instruction, and technology needs. Because each school has drafted their own plan based on community surveys, we encourage interested parents/guardians to check with their school of interest for specific details on their school campus remote and hybrid plans.
In this new year that the Church has dedicated to St. Joseph, we ask for your continued, prayerful support of our Catholic school leaders, teachers, parents/guardians, and students as we all continue to navigate these unknown, often-turbulent waters together,
confident that Christ is with us, and that St. Joseph will intercede for us:
THE YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH PRAYER
To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our afflictions, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also. Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities. O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness. As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.
Amen.
