Diocesan School Board
Mission Statement The Diocese of Tucson School Board ("School Board"), with the approval of the Bishop, advises the Diocesan School Superintendent and promotes Catholic education by encouraging commitment TO TEACH AS JESUS DID. In so doing, the educational mission of the Church embraces three dimensions: message, fellowship, and service.
The School Board believes it is the role of Catholic schools to: Develop the faith of all students; Promote academic excellence; Prepare students to adapt to the challenges of a changing world; Foster responsible citizenship, teach respect for self and others, and promote service to one another and the broader community.
The purpose of the School Board is to: Provide an opportunity for laity to participate in the educational ministry of the Church; Provide unity, direction and stability of administration for all Catholic schools within the Diocese of Tucson; Safeguard the rights and duties of those served or employed by all Catholic schools in the Diocese of Tucson; Advise and assist the Bishop.
All Board policies and decisions are advisory in nature and shall serve as guidelines and/or recommendations to the Bishop.
