Persons seeking employment as principals, assistant principals or for other administrative positions should download and fill out the Application Packet for Administrative Employees and the Permission to Obtain Information form below and return them to the Catholic Schools Department, P.O. Prospective substitute teachers should download and fill out the Application for Teaching Position, Permission to Obtain Information and Reference Request forms below and return them to the Catholic Schools Department, P.O. Box 31, Tucson, AZ 85702.
Prospective full-time and part-time teachers applying for an open position at a school should download and fill out the Application for Teaching Position, Permission to Obtain Information and Reference Request forms below and return them as directed in the position announcement or as directed by the school. If you wish to be considered for future openings at Catholic scools, you should send the forms to the Catholic Schools Department, P.O. Box 31, Tucson, AZ 85702. Your application will be retained for one year.
The Application for Teaching Position form is for all grade levels.
If you are interested in teaching at Salpointe Catholic High School, you will need to contact Salpointe, as it has its own application procedure.
All teachers must have a degree from a recognized college and must possess an Arizona Teaching Certificate. All schools in the Diocese are accredited (or are in the process of being accredited) by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). Some are accredited by the North Central Association (NCA). Therefore, all of our teachers must have a degree from a recognized college and an Arizona Teaching Certificate. It is possible, if certain criteria are met, to obtain a temporary, one year certificate. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Arizona Department of Education, Teacher Certification Unit, 400 W. Congress, Suite 118, (North Building) Tucson, AZ 85701, prior to arriving in the state. Teachers also should be willing to work toward religious certification through various in-service programs provided by the Diocese of Tucson.
