The Catholic Tuition Support Organization of the Diocese of Tucson, a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, was established in response to the enactment of the 1997 Arizona Tuition Tax Credit Act (A.R.S AZ 43.1089.01). The CTSO exists as a qualified School Tuition Organization to provide a mechanism by which individuals may make a donation to provide scholarships or tuition grants to children attending Catholic schools within the Diocese of Tucson and then claim a tax credit up to $1,000 if filing jointly or up to $500 if filing singly for that donation. In offering the best quality educational opportunity for students of the Diocese of Tucson, a school improvement plan has been established whereby the Western Catholic Educational Association and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools have moved toward accreditation of diocesan schools. Those schools that are designated by a single asterisk have successfully completed and are members in good standing of WCEA only. Those schools that are designated by a double asterisk have successfully completed and are members in good standing of both WCEA and NCA.
